Drum 2020 Mission Statement:
Drum 2020 will insure the continued presence of the Fort Drum military installation in Northern New York and support efforts to enhance its usefulness and mission in our nation's defense.

Objectives:
Drum 2020 will actively support Fort Drum by:

  • Advocating its expansion
  • Advocating its retention as a Power Projection Platform and valuable asset of the services
  • Advocating its continued use as a mobilization site and maneuver training area for the Reserves, National Guard, and other services and those involved in homeland defense
  • Advocating at the State and National level the inherent value of Fort Drum for all-service, all-weather, year-round, unencumbered training facilities
  • Educating the broader community in the necessity of maintaining Fort Drum and the jeopardy this installation faces in the 2005 base closure round
  • Increasing understanding of the installation's military value and its place in the economic life of our region and State
  • Inviting voluntary participation and involvement of all on base retention issues.
