FDRLO's Economic Development Task Force operates through a series of subcommittees focused on key elements of impact in the community.

Specific goals include:

Connect military family member and retiree workforce with local employment opportunities
Define this workforce as an economic asset

ncrease the local content of contracts at Fort Drum

    This subcommittee recently released the results of an extensive survey of area businesses interest and experience with Contract with Fort Drum.

Business Development & Attraction:

Conduct a "Gap Analysis" that will identify Target Businesses for opportunities for existing businesses as well as attract and recruit new business to the region

FDRLO also partnered with Small Business Development Center to have a study of the Fort Drum population's consumer spending practices conducted. The study was done by the Center for Community Studies at Jefferson Community College in the spring of 2007 and a final report was released in June.
